A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has stated that President Bola Tinubu was not voted into power to “come and play”.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, Igbokwe,
who was sending a stern warning to the opposition, said Tinubu was elected to
rework Nigeria, and he must be allowed to achieve the aim.
Igbowke warned that any opposition that adamantly stands in
the way of Tinubu’s re-election bid would be made to pay for his action.
He wrote, “We voted for PBAT to come and retool and rework
Nigeria. We did not vote for him to come to play or continue the business as
usual.
“No Sir. We have to push this country to rise and work
again. If you adamantly stand in the way, you will pay for it”.
Opposition leaders have concluded plans to remove the
president in 2027 over his alleged inability to quell the economic and other
crises bedeviling the nation.
