Controversial Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has alleged that the United States is showing keen interest in Nigeria’s natural resources.
Gumi made the claim on his official Facebook page while describing Western countries as predators.
“Nigeria needs to listen to this man. The West is a predator. US’s attention is now on Nigerian resources,” he wrote.
He added: “Nobody cries for terrorists. But every patriotic citizen should cry for our sovereignty.”
Gumi further warned against foreign military involvement in Nigeria, stating that aerial bombing of stationary targets does not require external forces operating on Nigerian soil.
He referenced the Thucydides Trap theory, which suggests rising powers often clash with established ones, and noted what he described as signs of declining American intellectual leadership.
