Umahi Signs Tinubu’s Nomination Form, Backs Continuity Ahead of 2027

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has formally signed President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form for a second term, describing it as a “victory form” that will sustain Nigeria’s ongoing development efforts.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaze, Umahi said the endorsement underscores a strong commitment to continuity, stability, and building on the gains recorded by the current administration.“The signing of this nomination form marks a defining moment in Nigeria’s ongoing development journey,” Umahi stated. He emphasised that it represents a collective resolve to maintain stability and consolidate achievements across critical sectors.

The minister highlighted President Tinubu’s infrastructure reforms, particularly in road construction and rehabilitation, noting their importance to economic growth. He pointed out that ongoing projects nationwide demonstrate the administration’s dedication to delivering tangible results and laying a solid foundation for long-term national transformation.

Umahi added that Tinubu is well-positioned to complete current initiatives and further deepen development in all sectors of the economy. He called for continued public support, stressing that consistent leadership is key to achieving Nigeria’s long-term goals.

The procurement of the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, valued at N100 million, was handled by Rep. James Faleke on behalf of President Tinubu. This move officially kicks off Tinubu’s re-election bid for the 2027 presidential election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027.
