The presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party, Prince Adewole, has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wants to be the sole presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, and SDP at the same time.
He made it known in a statement by his spokesperson, Alabi
Alayande, on Friday.
According to him, President Tinubu’s interference in the
affairs of opposition parties despite clinching the APC presidential ticket is
dangerous for Nigeria’s democracy.
He noted that Nigerians should resist President Tinubu and
his anti-democratic tendency with the ballot come 2027.
Adebayo further condemned the greed for power exhibited by
Nigerian politicians despite the citizens wallowing in poverty and hardship.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not satisfied to be the
presidential candidate of the APC. No. Bola Ahmed Tinubu wants to be the
presidential candidate of the APC, PDP, Labour, and SDP.
“The greed for money has been detected. But the greed for
the soul of the country—that’s one we cannot allow. That is why WE IN THE SDP
are going to contest the presidential election taking place in January 2027
with me as your flag bearer,” he stated.
Recall that Adebayo emerged as the presidential candidate
for SDP in the national convention and primaries held on May 9 in Bauchi,
Nigeria.
