Taraba Govt Releases Over ₦1.8 Billion for NECO, BECE, NABTEB Examinations

In a significant move to support education in Taraba State, the state government has released more than ₦1.8 billion for the registration of students sitting for the National Examinations Council (NECO), Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), and National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) exams.

The intervention, aimed at easing the financial burden on parents and guardians, is expected to benefit thousands of students across the state by covering their examination registration fees.

This timely support comes as many families face economic challenges, ensuring that no child is left behind due to inability to afford examination fees. By taking on this responsibility, the Taraba State Government is demonstrating its commitment to improving access to quality education and promoting academic excellence at both secondary and technical levels.

Education stakeholders have welcomed the development, describing it as a major boost for students preparing for these critical examinations. The funds are expected to be disbursed to relevant examination bodies to facilitate seamless registration processes for eligible candidates in public schools.

This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts by the state government to strengthen the education sector and reduce out-of-pocket expenses for learning activities.
