Seyi Tinubu Consoles Cubana Chief Priest After APC Primary Defeat

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has extended words of encouragement to popular nightlife entrepreneur and socialite Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.

Cubana Chief Priest had contested for the APC ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He lost to the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu, polling only 14 votes in the primary.

Reacting to the outcome, Seyi Tinubu took to his Instagram page on Sunday to console the businessman, who also serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement.

He wrote:“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving.”

Cubana Chief Priest later reposted the message. In a video that circulated after the primary, the aspirant expressed no regrets about contesting, though he lamented trusting certain community elders.

“I’m a hustler, and I didn’t regret trying to contest for a position. My only regret was trusting the elders in the community. I know how much I gave them, but only 14 people voted for me in the primary,” he said.

The defeat has generated mixed reactions online, with some users mocking the socialite despite his high-profile support for the Tinubu administration.
