Rotimi Amaechi Submits ADC Presidential Nomination Forms for 2027 Race

Former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has formally submitted his presidential nomination forms for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A high-powered delegation, led by former Edo State Governor and ex-APC National Chairman Chief John Oyegun, collected and submitted the forms on Amaechi’s behalf at the ADC national secretariat in Abuja.

The team included notable figures such as former Minister of Environment Mohammed Abdullahi, Senator Nura Abatemi, and other key political stakeholders.

This move comes as the ADC witnesses growing interest from heavyweight politicians.

Amaechi joins former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and businessman/politician Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, who have also obtained the party’s N90 million presidential nomination forms.

ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi confirmed that the three aspirants had picked up the expression of interest and nomination forms. The window for form sales ran from May 6 to May 13.

Amaechi, a prominent opposition voice with a strong political base, is seen as a serious contender for the ADC ticket.

His entry adds to the high-stakes contest shaping up within the party as it positions itself as a viable alternative ahead of the 2027 polls.
