The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday convened an emergency stakeholders meeting in Asokoro, Abuja, as the Board of Trustees (BoT) assumes control to resolve the ongoing leadership crisis and restore stability to the party.
The high-level meeting brought together the party’s major organs, including the Board of Trustees, PDP Governors’ Forum, National Assembly Caucus, National Executive Committee (NEC), National Caucus, State Chairmen, and Ex-Officio members.
BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, has already issued a statement confirming that the Board has taken over the leadership of the party pending the constitution of a caretaker committee.
The decisive move is aimed at safeguarding the institutional integrity of the PDP and addressing the current leadership impasse within Nigeria’s main opposition party.
