Dangote Refinery Recalls Sacked Engineers, Warns Against Further Misconduct

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has recalled engineers who were previously sacked, following an internal review of its operations.

The company has invited the affected engineers for a meeting and will give them the opportunity to return to work at the refinery with immediate effect.

However, management issued a strong warning that any recurrence of misconduct will attract immediate sanctions.

The recall comes about six months after the refinery sacked and later redeployed roughly 800 engineers to other subsidiaries within the Dangote Group in October 2025.

The initial action stemmed from internal disruptions that threatened the stability of the facility.

In a statement, the refinery reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards actions capable of undermining operations, emphasising that the pardon should not be seen as a sign of weakness.

The development is expected to help stabilise the workforce at the 650,000 barrels-per-day refinery as it continues to ramp up production to meet Nigeria’s domestic fuel demand.
