Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, on Friday received the newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force at the Government House, Benin City.
The Governor congratulated the IGP on his appointment and reiterated the state government’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the police to enhance the safety and security of residents.
“Security remains the foundation upon which sustainable development thrives,” Okpebholo said.
“As a government, we will continue to deepen our partnership with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering and proactive security operations across Edo State.”
He commended the sacrifices of police officers and men working tirelessly to protect citizens and assured them of the state government’s unwavering support.
The Governor expressed optimism that the strengthened partnership would help build “a more secure, peaceful, and prosperous Edo State.”
The visit underscores the Edo State Government’s focus on security as a key pillar of its SHINE Agenda and broader governance programme.
