The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has approved a total of 155 aspirants to participate in its upcoming primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to a notice released on Friday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, 48 aspirants were cleared for National Assembly positions, while 107 were approved for Anambra State House of Assembly seats.

Of the National Assembly aspirants, eight were cleared for Senate seats and 40 for the House of Representatives.

The statement directed all successful aspirants to proceed to the party’s Regional Office in Awka on Monday, May 18, 2026, to collect their nomination forms. The sale of forms will close on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

“The National Working Committee congratulates all successful aspirants on this milestone. We wish you the very best as you proceed to the Primary Elections,” the notice added.

The Senate and House of Representatives primaries are scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Notable cleared aspirants include former Minister of Aviation Stella Oduah and former gubernatorial aide Primus Odili, both vying for the Anambra North Senatorial District ticket.

This development marks a significant step in APGA’s preparation for the 2027 polls, particularly in its stronghold of Anambra State.
