Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has commended President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori following the successful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries in Delta State.
In a statement posted on his X handle on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, Keyamo congratulated the winners of the primaries and described the exercise as one of the most credible and transparent ever organised by the party in the state.
“I wish to profoundly congratulate Senator Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta North), Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central) and Senator Joel-Onowapo Thomas (Delta South) for their resounding victories. Their victories were fully deserved,” Keyamo said.
He noted the high turnout of genuine party members at the ward levels, describing the process as largely free and fair.
“Yesterday’s primaries saw a large turnout of the truly organic voters and members of the APC in Delta State voting at various Ward levels in an exercise that was largely free and fair. I can state unequivocally that this is the best primaries organised by the Party in the State since its inception,” he added.
Keyamo called for unity and reconciliation within the party, urging losers to accept the outcome in good faith and winners to be magnanimous.
“Now is a time for healing and reconciliation. I urge all those who have lost gallantly to take it on their chin and embrace the victors for the unity of the Party. I also urge the victors to be magnanimous in victory and extend hands of fellowship and brotherliness to the losers,” he said.
The minister specifically praised Governor Oborevwori for providing purposeful and inclusive leadership in the state and reserved special praise for President Tinubu for allowing a level playing field and promoting internal democracy within the APC.
“The greatest thanks go to the overall Leader of the Party, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for promoting internal democracy and allowing a free and fair process nationwide,” Keyamo stated.
He ended on an optimistic note, telling party faithful: “Stay strong, keep the faith, work hard. VICTORY IS IN SIGHT.”
