The Kano State Ministry of Education has declared a break for Eid-el-Kabir celebrations for both public and private primary and secondary schools in the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Misbahu Yakasai, the government outlined the following schedule:
Boarding schools will close from Saturday, May 23, 2026, and resume on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Day schools will begin their holiday from Friday, May 22, 2026, and resume on Monday, June 1, 2026.
Parents and guardians have been urged to collect their children from boarding schools on the specified closing date and ensure they return promptly for resumption.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Makoda, extended warm wishes to students, teachers, parents, and the entire education community for a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
This announcement allows students and staff sufficient time to observe the important Islamic festival with their families.
