Senator Jibrin Isah (Echocho), representing Kogi East Senatorial District, has declared that “the battle line has been drawn” with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary.
Speaking after the primary exercise, Senator Jibrin accused the governor’s agents of hijacking electoral materials and deliberately frustrating the process in several wards.
He claimed that electoral officers and voting materials were absent in many areas, including his own ward, preventing genuine participation by party members.
The senator alleged that the irregularities were targeted at him because the governor feared he might challenge him for the governorship in future.
“Since you are now out to fight me, take it from me today: the battle line has been drawn,” he said.
“I will now contest for the governorship position against Governor Ododo when the time comes.”
Despite expressing loyalty to the governor and the party, Jibrin said his developmental projects in Kogi East would still guarantee victory for APC candidates in the district.
