Tyla, the South African singer, has opened up about her two awkward encounters with global music icon Rihanna.
In a now-viral video, the Grammy-winning songstress recalled
meeting with the Barbadian pop artiste a year ago. She said Rihanna greeted her
and immediately walked off.
“I met her last year, and she was cool. You know, I met her,
but I think she was occupied cause she was like, I was like, I went up to her.
I was like, oh, hey, you know, she was like, hey, um, um, my baby daddy’s
calling me. And then she left, and I was like, ‘ Oh, maybe she was busy,’” she
said.
Tyla said she met her again at the Met Gala and admitted she
was extremely nervous to approach the superstar.

Tyla said later, while waiting for her car, she spotted
Rihanna standing nearby. But unsure how to approach her a second time without
forcing a conversation, she decided to hold back.
“So this time, I was waiting for my car, and she was right
there. I didn’t want to go up because I felt she was busy, you know what I
mean,” she said.
Tyla added that if she ever gets another chance to speak
with Rihanna, she hopes it happens naturally and in a calm setting.
“If we end up speaking ever, I want it to be calm and we
talk nicely,” she added.
Rihanna is currently in a relationship with artiste A$AP
Rocky. They are share three children together.
