Governor Uba Sani Approves Nearly ₦1 Billion to Settle Judiciary Staff Arrears

Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of judicial workers, announcing the approval of nearly ₦1 billion to clear long-standing arrears owed to judiciary staff.

The governor made the disclosure when he received the leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kaduna State Chapter, on a courtesy visit at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.

Led by its Chairman, Mr. Auwalu Sarki, the JUSUN delegation commended the state government for recent interventions aimed at addressing outstanding entitlements.

Governor Sani explained that the nearly ₦1 billion intervention covers:

Two months’ salary arrears for April and May 2021 inherited from the previous administration

Leave grants for 2023, 2024, and 2025

Long-overdue robe and outfit allowances for judiciary workers

He described the payment as part of his administration’s deliberate efforts to promote fairness, fiscal responsibility, and respect for labour, despite current economic challenges.

“We remain committed to strengthening institutions that support justice, accountability, and democratic governance,” the governor said.

Governor Sani further commended the judiciary staff for their dedication in upholding justice and public trust in the legal system.

He pledged continued support for staff welfare and the upgrading of judicial infrastructure to ensure smoother justice delivery in the state.

The meeting highlighted the cordial relationship between the Kaduna State Executive and the Judiciary, with both sides expressing readiness to sustain collaboration for the overall development of the state.
