Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Warns APC: Stop Using Violence, Intimidation

African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has urged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop relying on violence, thugs, and intimidation if it truly believes it is performing well.

Speaking in an interview on News Central Television on Friday, May 29, 2026, Rhodes-Vivour said a performing government would not need such tactics.

“If the APC government believes that they were doing well by the people, it will not depend on thugs, violence, and intimidation,” he said.

He also criticised the APC for allegedly supporting a “mafia-type cartel” that has been exploiting Lagos resources, while accusing the party of failing to address insecurity in the state and the Southwest.

The remarks come as political tensions rise in Lagos ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
