Former member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Farah Dagogo, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State for the 2027 election.
Dagogo secured a landslide victory in the party’s direct primaries held across all 319 wards in the 23 local government areas of the state.
He polled 64,700 votes, defeating his closest rival, Dr. Sokonte Davies, who garnered 9,050 votes.
The result was announced by the Chairman of the ADC Rivers State Governorship Primary Electoral Committee, Dr. Agu Bryan.
Reacting to his victory, Dagogo called for unity and inclusiveness within the party, urging all members to work together to build a stronger Rivers State.
In a show of sportsmanship, the campaign team and supporters of Dr. Sokonte Davies congratulated Dagogo on his emergence as the candidate and pledged their full support.
Dr. Dagogo, a former lawmaker representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency, is seen as a strong contender in the Rivers political landscape.
His emergence adds to the growing list of aspirants positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
The ADC primaries were described as peaceful and transparent by party officials.
