President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to promote love, tolerance, and unity as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
Tinubu made the call on Wednesday while speaking with journalists after observing the Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos.
The President thanked God for preserving the lives of Nigerians to witness another Eid-el-Kabir and urged citizens to reflect on the lessons of the season.
“Well, we thank God, Almighty Allah, who has provided for us and kept us to see another year, another Eid-el-Kabir. We thank Him for His mercy, and we must learn from the lessons of this season by showing love to one another. No discrimination, no ethnicity, no hatred,” Tinubu said.
He further urged Nigerians to be generous and compassionate towards one another.“We should share love and be generous to one another in a way that reflects the values of our country and our common humanity,” the President stated.
Tinubu also emphasised the need for tolerance, obedience to the will of Allah, and respect for the rule of law.
He highlighted the significance of sacrifice during the festival, noting that it underscores the sanctity and value of human life.
