President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Daniel Bwala, has predicted increased joint US-Nigeria operations against terrorism following the elimination of a top ISIS commander.
In a CNN interview, Bwala spoke on the successful operation that killed Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, identified as ISIS’s second-in-command globally.
The strike was carried out by US and Nigerian forces in Nigeria’s Lake Chad Basin region.“Probably in the coming days, we will see more and more of these operations. It will be frequent,” Bwala told CNN.
He highlighted strengthened bilateral cooperation, particularly in intelligence sharing and access to advanced US military hardware to combat terrorism effectively.
The operation was confirmed by both US President Donald Trump and President Tinubu as a major setback to ISIS.
Bwala’s comments signal Nigeria’s commitment to deeper US partnership in the fight against terrorism.
