Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has officially received the nomination form of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to contest the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
The governor picked up the expression of interest and nomination forms on Thursday during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the APM in Abuja, shortly after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APM.
The development signals the beginning of active preparations by the party, which has commenced processes for screening of aspirants ahead of the 2027 polls.
The Bauchi State chapter of the APM presented forms to several aspirants, with Governor Mohammed leading the list.
Speaking after receiving the form, Governor Mohammed expressed confidence in the new platform, describing his move as strategic for stronger political engagement.
The party leadership stated that the exercise marks the start of formal activities leading to screening, clearance, and submission of candidates’ names to INEC.
Bala Mohammed, who is completing his second term as governor, is eyeing a return to the Senate, where he previously represented Bauchi South.
