Atiku to Present ADC Presidential Nomination Forms on Monday

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is set to formally present his presidential nomination forms for the 2027 election on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Secretariat in Abuja.

The ADC announced on Saturday that Atiku had paid for and collected the receipt for the party’s presidential nomination form.

The nomination fee receipt, dated May 8, 2026, shows a payment of N90 million. In its statement, the party described the development as “A New Chapter in Nigeria’s Democratic Journey,” adding that Atiku’s move represents a significant moment in the push for national renewal, democratic inclusion, and people-driven leadership.

“The formal presentation of nomination forms is expected on Monday at the ADC National Secretariat, Abuja. The movement is growing. Hope is rising. Expect more,” the party said.

The ADC said it remains committed to offering Nigerians a credible alternative platform anchored on unity, competence, economic recovery, security, and national progress.Atiku officially joined the ADC in late 2025 after leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

His adoption by the party is seen as a major boost to opposition efforts against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

One of the images accompanying the announcement shows the official ADC receipt alongside a promotional poster that already brands Atiku as the party’s presidential candidate with the slogan “A Leader. A Vision. A New Nigeria.”

The development comes as other notable figures, including Rotimi Amaechi, have also obtained ADC nomination forms, while the party continues to attract attention amid ongoing political realignments.
