APC Leaders Dismiss Rival Claims in Agege Primary Controversy

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agege have rejected rival claims and allegations of manipulation following the party’s House of Assembly primary elections in the areas.

The primaries, which produced Obasa-backed candidates High Chief Ganiyu Egunjobi for Agege Constituency I and Azeez Ninalowo for Agege Constituency II, have been mired in controversy, with some aspirants and their supporters disputing the results.

Party leaders described the exercise as free, fair, and transparent, insisting that the declared winners emerged through due process and enjoyed overwhelming support from delegates.

They dismissed claims of imposition and irregularities as baseless attempts by disgruntled aspirants to undermine the party’s internal democracy.

According to the leaders, Egunjobi polled 10,126 votes while Ninalowo scored 12,455 votes in their respective constituencies.

The APC urged all party members to close ranks and work towards victory in the 2027 elections, warning that internal wrangling only benefits the opposition.
