Paul Ibe, Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has alleged that the Tinubu-led APC administration, in collaboration with APC state governors, is diverting public resources into dedicated accounts to fund President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential re-election campaign.
In a X post on Tuesday, Ibe linked the alleged diversion of funds to the prevailing insecurity and widespread poverty in the country, stating that Nigerians are suffering despite the nation’s abundant resources.
“The reason why Nigerians are poor amidst our abundant resources and cannot be protected is that the Tinubu-led APC administration is in cahoots with the APC Governors to divert your resources to dedicated accounts for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign,” Ibe said.
He further claimed that the ongoing crisis within the APC Governors’ Forum is connected to disagreements over these allegedly diverted funds.Ibe warned that Nigerians would have only themselves to blame if they allow the current administration a second term in office.
The allegation comes as political activities and realignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with opposition figures increasingly criticising the APC government over governance and resource management.
No response has been received from the APC or the Presidency as of the time of this report.
