Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has said his administration and political family endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027 in the best interest of Osun State and the Yoruba people.
The governor made the disclosure while inspecting the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ilesa-Ife-Ibadan express road.
He described the decision as morally right, stressing that Osun State is the ancestral birthplace of President Tinubu and therefore deserves maximum support.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Monday, Governor Adeleke declared that President Tinubu is “our own son, father and leader” who deserves support beyond partisan politics.
“I am the governor of the ancestral birthplace of Mr President. How can I have my own in the saddle and think twice before embracing him?” Adeleke said.
He added: “How many governors are as lucky as me? We in Osun State count ourselves lucky and privileged to have one of our illustrious sons and fathers at the helm of affairs of Nigeria.”
The governor noted that the endorsement goes beyond party lines and reaffirmed his support for Tinubu while commending the ongoing federal road projects in the state, particularly the reconstruction of the Ilesa-Ife-Ibadan motorway.
He also expressed appreciation for the approval of other federal roads, including Ibadan-Iwo-Osogbo and Gbongan-Akoda roads, and appealed to the President for the reconstruction of the Osogbo-Ilesa road.
Adeleke further called for the refund of funds spent by the state on rehabilitated federal roads.
This latest endorsement reinforces Adeleke’s earlier public support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
