Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday held a meeting with representatives of U.S. Congressman Riley Moore to discuss election integrity and security challenges in Nigeria.
The meeting was disclosed in a statement by Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C., a Washington D.C.-based lobbying firm engaged by Atiku Abubakar to strengthen his reputation in the United States.
According to the statement, the discussions centred on “protecting every Nigerian’s right to a free and fair election” to enable the country to elect competent leaders capable of tackling security issues.
“The meeting was very productive and focused on the urgent need for election integrity, peace, and long-term stability in Nigeria,” the firm said.
The engagement comes as Atiku, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has already submitted his presidential nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former Vice President has been actively urging Nigerians to join him in what he describes as an effort to restore the country and bring back the “good old days.”
