Lauretta Onochie, former media aide to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has dared President Bola Tinubu not to underestimate or attempt to suppress the resolve of determined Nigerians.
Onochie issued the strong warning while accusing the Tinubu administration of allegedly using intimidation and other tactics to weaken democratic plurality and silence opposition voices.
In her statement, Onochie said: “You can’t stop determined Nigerians,” adding that any attempt to stifle the will of the people would ultimately fail.
She cautioned the President against trying the collective resolve of Nigerians who are committed to protecting democracy and demanding good governance.
The outspoken former presidential aide maintained that Nigerians have shown time and again that they cannot be cowed or manipulated when they are united on a cause.
Onochie’s remarks come amid growing political tensions and realignments as the country moves closer to the 2027 general elections.
Political observers believe her comments are directed at perceived moves by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to dominate the political space and weaken emerging opposition platforms.
As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency had not responded to Onochie’s latest criticism.
Lauretta Onochie is known for her vocal and often controversial positions on national issues, both during and after her service in the Buhari administration.
