The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) backed by the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has pegged the cost of its Presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at N51 million for the 2027 general elections.
This was one of the major resolutions taken at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the faction held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the PDP National Headquarters in Abuja.
According to party sources, the Expression of Interest Form costs N1 million while the Nomination Form is priced at N50 million, bringing the total to N51 million.
The faction, led by Abdulrahman Mohammed, has already commenced activities for its presidential primaries, which are expected to conclude on May 29, 2026.
The PDP has been divided into two rival factions since last year. While the Wike-backed group is led by Abdulrahman Mohammed, the other faction is headed by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, and is supported by most PDP governors.
Despite the high cost of forms, the faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, insisted that the party will field a presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
This position comes even as Minister Nyesom Wike, who is seen as the national leader of the faction, has publicly declared his intention to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The development highlights the deepening crisis within the PDP as different blocs position themselves ahead of the next general elections.
