The Bauchi State chapter of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has formally invited Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to join the party, describing it as a move that serves the best interest of the state and Nigerian democracy.
The appeal was made during a press conference in Bauchi on Wednesday, where the state PRP Chairman, Abdurrahman Yusuf Mu’azu, alongside National Coordinator of the PRP Glory Restoration Group, Barrister Sufyanu Gambo Idris, and hundreds of supporters, declared the party’s readiness to welcome the governor and his political structure.
“We want to assure him that his political interests and those of his followers will be fully accommodated within the PRP,” Mu’azu said.
He added that the party is committed to providing a stable, inclusive, and crisis-free platform, free from internal litigation and factional disputes.
Mu’azu stressed that the PRP is ready to make necessary sacrifices, including surrendering leadership positions to accommodate Governor Mohammed.
Barrister Sufyanu Gambo Idris described the PRP as a credible and peaceful political vehicle, well-positioned for the governor ahead of future elections.
He highlighted the party’s unity and commitment to restoring its historical glory as key attractions for experienced politicians.
The invitation comes amid growing speculation about Governor Mohammed’s potential defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It follows similar overtures from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to woo the governor.
