Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has recounted how he spoke with kidnappers on the phone after one of the church’s pastors was abducted.
Speaking during a church service, Oyedepo said he engaged the abductors directly when they contacted the church.
While he did not disclose full details of the conversation, he said he made it clear that the kidnapped pastor would be released unhurt.
The cleric added that the pastor was eventually freed, attributing the release to prayer and divine intervention.
Oyedepo used the incident to charge Christians to remain steadfast in faith and prayer amid rising insecurity across the country.
He also urged the government to intensify efforts to tackle kidnapping and protect citizens.
The bishop did not state when or where the abduction occurred.
