President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on Friday, April 24, 2026, received the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Muhammad Buba Marwa (rtd), CON, OFR, in audience at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, which took place behind closed doors, focused on the ongoing fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse in Nigeria.
Brig. Gen. Marwa, who was reappointed by President Tinubu in November 2025 for a fresh five-year term, is widely credited with strengthening the NDLEA’s operations, leading to significant seizures of illicit drugs and improved interdiction efforts across the country.
No official statement was released immediately after the meeting regarding specific outcomes or discussions.
However, sources indicate the audience provided an opportunity for the NDLEA boss to brief the President on recent achievements and challenges facing the agency.
