Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday received a high-level delegation from British Airways at Lagos House, Marina.
The delegation was led by the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Colm Lacy. The courtesy visit coincided with British Airways’ celebration of 90 years of uninterrupted operations and service to Nigeria.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described the meeting as productive, noting that fruitful discussions were held on strengthening the long-standing partnership between the airline and Lagos State.
“I appreciate the visit and the long-standing relationship between both sides,” the Governor stated. He reaffirmed that Lagos State remains open to strong partnerships that promote travel, trade, and deeper economic and cultural connections between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
The visit forms part of a series of engagements by the British Airways team in Nigeria as the airline marks its historic milestone, which began with flights between Lagos and London in 1936.
The delegation had earlier paid similar courtesy calls in Abuja, including to President Bola Tinubu.
British Airways continues to operate the popular London–Lagos route with modern aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, supporting business, tourism, and people-to-people ties between the two nations.
