Plateau State Government has announced a further relaxation of the curfew imposed on Jos North Local Government Area following improvements in the security situation.
The government said the decision was taken in consultation with security agencies after a review of developments in the area.
Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Jos.
She said the curfew would now run from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. daily, effective Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
According to her, residents are expected to strictly comply with the adjusted curfew hours.
“The Plateau State Government, in consultation with security agencies, wishes to further relax the curfew imposed in the wake of recent disturbances.
“Consequently, as from Wednesday, 15th April 2026, curfew hours will be between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.,” the statement reads.
The government commended residents for their cooperation, noting that their support had contributed to the improved security situation.
It urged citizens to sustain the peaceful conduct as efforts continue to restore full normalcy in Jos North and other parts of the state.
The statement also called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
The government reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, assuring that necessary measures would continue to be taken to maintain peace across the state.
