Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has urged Nigerians not to lose hope amid the prevailing economic difficulties facing the country.
In his Easter message shared on X on Sunday, April 5, 2026, Obi called for collective sacrifice, resilience, and responsible leadership as the path to a better Nigeria.
“Even amid difficult times, we encourage you to remain steadfast in hope,” Obi wrote. He acknowledged the heavy burden many families are currently carrying due to economic hardship, describing the present challenges as temporary trials that can lead to renewal if Nigerians stay resilient and committed to the common good.
The former presidential candidate noted that Easter reminds believers that after sacrifice comes renewal, and after darkness comes light.
He stressed that a better Nigeria is possible through accountability, compassion, and good governance.
Obi concluded by expressing confidence that, through God’s grace and the determination of the people, the nation will overcome its current challenges and build a brighter, more prosperous future for all.
The message comes as many Nigerians continue to grapple with rising costs of living, inflation, and other economic pressures under the current administration.
