The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has declared that its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, will defeat incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke on election day.
Oluwole Oke, Director General of the APC campaign organisation, made the assertion on Wednesday during the inauguration of over 800 members of the party’s campaign council for the 2026 governorship election.
Oke stated confidently that the APC would remove Governor Adeleke from office before 10:00pm on August 15, 2026, when the election is scheduled to hold.
“Removing Adeleke is non-negotiable, as his days in office are numbered,” he said.The campaign DG heavily criticised the Adeleke administration, accusing it of plunging the state into collapse through poor management of resources.
He claimed the government had failed in key sectors such as education, health, agriculture, and mining, adding that public institutions were no longer functioning effectively
.“The incumbent is gone. His days in office are numbered. The truth remains that the government has failed the people of Osun State on all fronts,” Oke declared.
He also dismissed the governor’s emphasis on salary payment as an achievement, saying it is not something to boast about since workers deserve to be paid.
Oke assured that the APC and its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, are ready to rescue Osun State and restore its lost glory through targeted programmes aimed at tackling poverty, unemployment, and other socio-economic challenges.
He added that the party is experienced in defeating sitting governors and has already begun intensive grassroots mobilisation.
The newly inaugurated campaign council includes various committees such as Contact and Mobilisation, Women Mobilisation, Media and Publicity, Youth and Civil Society, among others, to drive the party’s efforts towards victory.
