The Ondo State Government has announced the immediate dissolution of the boards of several parastatals and commissions following the expiration of their tenure.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, and shared via the state government’s official X handle.
According to the statement, the dissolution affects multiple agencies, including the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the Local Government Service Commission, the Muslim Welfare Board, and the Christian Welfare Board.
The government also confirmed that Education Secretaries across all 18 Local Government Areas in the state have completed their tenure and are part of the directive.
All affected chairmen, commissioners, board members, and education secretaries have been directed to hand over immediately to the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices.
“The Ondo State Government announces the expiration of tenure and consequent dissolution of the Boards of some Parastatals and Commissions in the State, with immediate effect,” the statement read.
The government added that the transition should be carried out smoothly in line with established administrative procedures.
Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to the outgoing officials for their service, noting their contributions to governance and development during their tenure.
The state government is expected to announce new appointments to the affected agencies in due course as part of its ongoing administrative restructuring.
