The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has appealed to Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to dump the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and join its platform for the 2027 presidential election.
In an X post on Sunday, the party signalled a narrow two-week window for the two prominent politicians to cross over and secure the NDC presidential ticket.
“All we need right now. Just all we need. 2 weeks to deadline,” the NDC wrote on X.The post was accompanied by a photo of Obi and Kwankwaso shaking hands, with the optimistic caption: “Nigeria will be OK”.
The move comes amid growing speculation and realignments within the opposition ahead of the 2027 polls, as some politicians explore alternative platforms following reported internal issues in the ADC.
Neither Obi nor Kwankwaso has publicly responded to the NDC’s overture.
