The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Ankwai (also known as Muhammad Usman Zuru or Lifiddan Zuru), has died.
Ankwai passed away on Monday night, April 6, 2026, while receiving medical treatment in a hospital in Egypt.
He had been managing health issues for some time before his demise.Details surrounding the exact cause of death remain unclear as of the time of reporting, but sources close to the family and political circles confirmed the sad development.
The late Speaker represented the Zuru constituency and was a prominent figure in Kebbi State politics.
