VeryDarkMan, the controversial social media activist, has fired back at politician Omoyele Sowore following his criticism of the detention of cryptocurrency entrepreneur Blord.
Blord was remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre on Wednesday
after he was accused of criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and the
unauthorised use of VeryDarkMan’s identity.
Sowore publicly condemned what he called the “celebration”
of Blord’s incarceration and vowed to work toward having the case dropped and
Blord released.
In response, VeryDarkMan took to Instagram to express
disappointment that Sowore chose to speak out publicly rather than reach out
privately.
He warned Sowore not to cross him, issuing a stern caution
against any unauthorised use of his identity and threatening legal action if
Sowore did the same.
VeryDarkMan further argued that the case demonstrates that
influence and wealth do not place individuals above the law.
“Dear Omoyele Sowore (@yelesho), you had every opportunity
to call me on the phone as a younger brother regarding this Blord matter.
Because of the respect I have for you, if you had asked me to let it go, I
might have. But instead, you chose to test your strength—abi?,” he wrote.
“On God, if you cross this path and use my face or name to
promote any business without my approval, I, Martins Vincent Otse, will send
you to prison. If you doubt it, try me… you might end up begging to discontinue
the case . Sowore is so funny— comedian of the year.
“Also, let it be known that in a country where people use
money to escape the law and connections to manipulate cases, Martins Vincent
Otse (aka VeryDarkMan), who is often considered poor, dirty, or small, has sent
a man—who is widely seen as well-connected, powerful, and influential—to the
Kuje Correctional Centre. Knowledge is indeed power.”
