Doris Ogala, the Nigerian actress, has reignited her public feud with Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberty and Miracle Ministry, accusing him of orchestrating yet another attempt to have her arrested.
An emotionally distraught Ogala took to social media to
share a video claiming that police officers surrounded her home and demanded
that she be taken into custody.
She alleged that the officers, who said they were from a
Lagos division, were sent by Okafor.
“I have police people in my house, I do not know where they
are coming from. I do not know how they entered my house,” she said, visibly
crying.
“I have police in my house. They say they are from Lagos.
Chris does not want to leave me alone. He has carried me to three courts. Now,
he has taken me to more than seven police stations. There is one in zone 2.
There is one in Abuja zone 7.
“Chris is the one sending them. They have surrounded my
house. If you people do not see me again, you should hold Chris Okafor.”
The conflict between Ogala and Okafor started last year
after a video of the pastor’s engagement to Pearl Okafor surfaced online.
Ogala alleged she had been in a romantic relationship with
Okafor since 2017. She claimed she ended her previous marriage at his urging
and accused him of betraying her after years of intimacy and repeated promises
of marriage.
The actress later issued an ultimatum, demanding that Okafor
either marry her or compensate her financially, escalating to a demand of N1
billion in damages over breach of promise.
She had also claimed that Okafor was complicit in the
poisoning and death of her brother.
Despite the threat and outburst, Okafor got married to Pearl
in a white and traditional wedding ceremony.
Okafor initially described Ogala’s backlash as “the devil’s
anger” over his public marital happiness.
However, he knelt publicly and apologised to Ogala,
acknowledging the truth of her claims about their past relationship — only for
the cleric to later retract his apology to Ogala a few weeks later.
