Gombe State Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has dissolved the State Executive Council with immediate effect.
The governor announced the dissolution on Wednesday during the 53rd State Executive Council meeting.
Although Governor Inuwa Yahaya did not give specific reasons for the decision, sources say the move is linked to growing political interests among some cabinet members and is part of broader realignments ahead of future elections in the state.
The dissolution comes at a time of intense political activities across Nigeria, especially with various opposition parties and politicians positioning themselves for the 2027 general elections.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya is expected to reconstitute a new Executive Council in the coming days to ensure continuity of governance and sustain ongoing developmental programmes in the state.
More details on the reasons for the dissolution and the composition of the new cabinet are expected to emerge in the coming days.
