Faleke Picks Up ₦50 Million APC Nomination Forms for Hamzat

Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has officially picked up the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination forms valued at ₦50 million on behalf of Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, for the 2027 governorship election.

The development further strengthens Hamzat’s position as a leading contender to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the APC’s candidate in Lagos State.

Faleke, a key APC stakeholder, had earlier thrown his weight behind the Deputy Governor when he publicly urged supporters in Ikeja Federal Constituency and across Lagos to rally behind Hamzat ahead of the party primaries.

In a post on his verified X account, Faleke wrote: “Good evening all. As we prepare for Party primaries next month, I urge all our supporters in Ikeja Federal Constituency and Lagos State to support Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos State from 2027–2035 IJN. Amen!”

The purchase of the expensive nomination forms is viewed as a significant show of commitment to Hamzat’s governorship ambition.

Political analysts believe the Deputy Governor currently enjoys strong backing from major party structures, including the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has also publicly endorsed his deputy, citing Hamzat’s competence, loyalty, and readiness to sustain the current administration’s developmental strides.

Hamzat has been consulting widely with party leaders and stakeholders to build consensus as the APC prepares for its governorship primaries in the coming months.
