The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has stepped up its campaign to permanently seize 57 high-value properties allegedly connected to former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.
The anti-graft agency is now before a Federal High Court, requesting the final forfeiture of the assets, which comprise buildings, parcels of land, and other prime real estate spread across several states in the country.
This latest move signals a significant escalation in the EFCC’s efforts to recover assets suspected to have been acquired through illicit means during Malami’s tenure in office.
The case is currently pending before the court, with further proceedings expected to determine the fate of the properties.
