Bwala: ADC Not Ready for Elections as Members All Want to Be President

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has criticised the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying its members are unprepared for upcoming elections because every one of them harbours presidential ambition.

Bwala made the remarks while reacting to accusations from the opposition that President Tinubu is trying to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.

In a post on X, Bwala wrote: “The opposition members under the umbrella of ADC know quite well that they are not ready for the election since all of them want to be president.“

"They have now resorted to importing foreign interference into our elections by alleging one party state, as if the foreign governments don’t have their embassies and commissions here in Nigeria to know the lack of preparedness of the ADC… Association of party-grabbing elements.”

The statement comes after ADC chieftain and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, accused the Tinubu administration of attempting to slide Nigeria into a one-party state.

Bwala dismissed the opposition’s claims as a desperate move born out of their internal disunity and lack of readiness for the electoral contest.
