Armed bandits abducted six residents of Gazau village in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State during a pre-dawn raid on Monday.
According to a local source who spoke to Daily Post, the attackers stormed the village around 1:00 a.m., breaking into several homes and initially taking away 13 people—12 women and one man.The bandits later halted at Dan Adama Forest, where they forced the captives to identify themselves.
They reportedly adopted a selective release policy, freeing one person for every two individuals who came from the same household. In the end, seven people were released, while six were taken to an unknown hideout.
The abducted individuals have been identified as:Asabe Zakariya

The source added that the bandits issued a chilling threat, warning that they would continue launching daily attacks on the village unless residents sought “amnesty” from them.
Attempts to reach the Chairman of Isa Local Government Area, Sharehu Abubakar Kamarawa, for comments were unsuccessful as his phone lines were unreachable. Similarly, the spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, DSP Ahmad Rufai, did not respond to calls for a reaction on the incident.
