APC National Chairman, Kano Gov Visit Bala Mohammed Amid Political Speculation

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, is currently hosting a high-level meeting with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, at the Bauchi State Government House.

The closed-door discussion, which began on Wednesday, has drawn significant attention from political observers, coming at a time of intense political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. Governor Abba Yusuf, who recently defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the APC, accompanied the APC national chairman to Bauchi.

While details of the meeting remain undisclosed, sources close to the development suggest it could touch on broader issues of political cooperation, party strengthening in the North, and possible alignments involving key figures from opposition parties.

Recent reports have hinted at ongoing talks and overtures from the APC towards Governor Bala Mohammed, a prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) figure.

This engagement follows a series of high-profile defections and stakeholder meetings within the APC, including efforts to consolidate support in northern states. Political analysts note that such cross-party interactions often signal strategic maneuvering as major parties position themselves for future contests.

Further updates on the outcome of the meeting are expected as discussions continue.
