Former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has congratulated Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat on his emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Ambode described Hamzat’s
emergence as a reflection of his loyalty, hard work, and long-standing
dedication to the party.
He said Hamzat’s consultations with party leaders and
members demonstrated his commitment to the ideals of unity and progress,
expressing confidence that Lagos State would benefit from his experience in
governance.
Ambode also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed
Tinubu, pledging to back his re-election bid.
“As I congratulate Dr. Hamzat on his adoption, I restate my
unshakeable commitment to support the re-election of our Leader, President Bola
Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. I strongly believe that the greater prosperity of Lagos and
indeed Nigeria is firmly tied to the continued governance of Mr. President,” he
said.
He said Nigeria’s growth and prosperity were tied to
Tinubu’s continued leadership, expressing optimism that the President’s
policies and vision would yield positive outcomes for the country.
The former governor called on members of the APC in Lagos to
work towards delivering a landslide victory for the party in the forthcoming
elections.
He set a target of at least three million votes for the
President in Lagos State and urged party members to support APC candidates
across all levels, including those contesting seats in the National Assembly.
Ambode added that the party should also collaborate with
other South-West states to secure strong electoral outcomes for the APC.
He expressed confidence that the future of Lagos State and
Nigeria remained bright, noting that the best days were still ahead.
