Adeleke Accuses APC of Plotting Osun Election Disruption

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to disrupt the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The governor raised the alarm while addressing concerns over the rising political tension in Osun State ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship poll.

Adeleke alleged that the APC, which is desperate to regain power, is planning various disruptive tactics, including possible violence and other undemocratic means to thwart the will of the people.

He warned that any attempt by the opposition party to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the election would be met with stiff resistance, stressing that his administration remains committed to ensuring a free, fair, and credible poll.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor described the alleged plot as a clear indication of the APC’s fear of defeat at the polls, adding that the people of Osun have already rejected the opposition party due to its past poor performance in the state.

Adeleke urged security agencies to be vigilant and live up to their responsibilities by ensuring that no individual or group is allowed to truncate the democratic process in the state.

He reaffirmed his confidence that he would defeat the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in a landslide if the election is allowed to hold peacefully without interference.

The accusation comes amid heightened political activities in the state, with both the PDP and APC intensifying campaigns and mobilisation efforts for the 2026 governorship election.
