ADC Crisis: NDC Open to Stranded Politicians, Says Seriake Dickson

Former Bayelsa State Governor and Senator Seriake Dickson has declared that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is ready to welcome politicians displaced by internal crises in other parties, particularly those affected by the ongoing turmoil in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Dickson described the NDC as a “clean and unencumbered” platform, positioning it as a stable and attractive alternative for politicians seeking a new direction.

“Our party is available for all Nigerians who are now helpless and desirous of a change,” he said.

He added: “The NDC is also available to all politicians who are stranded as a result of the political developments in the country, who need a platform that is clean and unencumbered with any political crisis.”

The NDC, which was registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in February, has been actively building structures across the country.

Senator Dickson formally joined the party on March 5 in Abuja and later unveiled a digital membership registration platform to support its expansion.

Describing the party’s ideology, Dickson said the NDC represents “a new brand of politics of ideas and service,” moving away from personality-driven politics.

He expressed strong confidence in the party’s future, stating, “No force can stop an idea whose time has come… The NDC will win.”

He also dismissed criticisms and propaganda against the party as unfounded. On recent criticisms from Umar Ardo, Dickson clarified that the NDC has no connection to the disputes surrounding the Advanced Democratic Alliance (ADA).

The comments come amid growing uncertainty in the ADC due to internal disagreements and regulatory challenges.
