2027: ADC Coalition Intimidating Nigerians into Voting for Them - Daniel Bwala

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has sharply criticised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, accusing it of using blackmail and intimidation tactics ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a series of posts on X on Saturday, April 11, 2026, Bwala claimed the opposition alliance lacks a clear vision and credible alternative for Nigeria, resorting instead to desperate measures to gain support.

“Desperate people do desperate things. Ordinarily their coalition should bring hope and excitement, but because they have no clear vision and alternative for Nigeria, nobody reckons with them,” he wrote.

Bwala further alleged that the coalition, which includes figures like Peter Obi, is relying on “fake news CSO, fake TV anchors, fake movement of irrational and double standards Obidient” to create momentum, but insisted that “anything fake hardly lasts.”

He accused the group of deliberately painting Nigeria negatively before the international community in order to trigger harsh external treatment that would hurt ordinary Nigerians economically, thereby forcing them to vote for the coalition.

“They have now resorted to blackmailing Nigeria and the Nigerian people in the eyes of the international community; anticipating hard and harsh treatment that would affect the lives and economy of ordinary Nigerians, so that Nigerians would be intimidated into voting them; that’s political banditry,” Bwala said.

The presidential aide questioned the moral standing of the coalition, noting that a group allegedly involved in forcefully taking over a political party cannot build a credible opposition.

This latest attack comes amid growing political manoeuvring as various opposition figures and parties intensify efforts to form a formidable alliance against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.
